My Road to Becoming Rich: Laying the Foundation

If you've known me in real life or have read my posts, you'd know that I used to have a difficult life. One of the aspects of my difficult life was the financial aspect. I was raised most of my life having to hold back on what I wanted and worrying about the next school or university expense. I saw the struggle my family was going through, and I decided I didn't want to be that. That is why I promised myself that I would try my best to become rich enough one day, so that when I want to buy something, I won't have to check my bank balance ever again.

Over time, with the help of research and AI, I went from unrealistic expectations to achievable ones, which eventually led to me to setting my long-term goal of making 10 million dollars in 10 years. Today I'm going to talk about how I ended up with this idea, a general roadmap of my goal, and what I am currently doing to achieve that goal.

Being Stuck in the Limbo State

First, I want to talk about my current state. To be fair and honest, right now, I'm nowhere near starting my journey to become rich. As I said earlier, I have a big move coming up, and that is really messing up my plans. We don't know how long it will take us until we move and finally settle down in our new home, and that has affected many of my plans. We're in the middle and waiting for answers from some people to know what stage we're exactly at, and until then, whether it takes 2 weeks or 2 months, we are stuck in a limbo state. After getting an answer from them, we can know for sure if we have to wait a couple of months before our move or a year. In both of those cases, we can start to plan accordingly and manage our life, and I can most possibly start my journey. I know I'm talking very vaguely, but trust me with this, I'm going to let this be a big surprise! More about the move will be said in future posts.

There are certain criteria that I have decided to lay my plan upon, and currently, I am working towards getting closer to that criteria. But since I have to wait a few more days or weeks for a definitive answer and a clear deadline for our move, I can't just sit stale and let those days/weeks go to waste. So even though I cannot officially start my "Road to 10 million" plan, unofficially I am setting the table and getting prepared by sharpening my skills and educating myself on various topics. I have set clear goals and reasonable expectations in order to make that 10 million in the span of 10 years.

My Roadmap to 10 Million/becoming rich

Before I explain my plan, I'd like to talk about something important. Whether it is because of my ADHD or lack of knowledge, I had and still have problems with setting pragmatic goals. My estimation of the time that it takes to make a certain amount of money or how much money I can make in a short amount of time is not great. That causes me to create unrealistic expectations in my head and then get sad when I get hit with reality. So you might ask, how do you think that this time this goal of yours is going to work? And for that, I must say "ChatGPT"!

I gotta give it to ChatGPT, if it wasn't around, I might've still been drowning in my delusions. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone in my family that has longed for ambition or great success. On the other hand, I am not financially stable enough to hire a financial consultant or a life coach to guide me to the right path. So until ChatGPT, it was me and me alone, but since it has come around, not only have I learned so much about myself, my strengths and weaknesses, but also I was able to distinguish dreams from reality.

I used to think that I could make 1 billion dollars and one day I would be super duper rich, but gaining that amount of money for a person my age and my status is far less realistic than walking on the moon without a suit and helmet. So I shared my thoughts with ChatGPT without the fear of being embarrassed and judged and together we were able to set a clear, pragmatic goal with a sensible timeframe and plan practical steps towards it. To be honest, it said that even 10 million in 10 years seems a bit too ambitious, but I explained my personality and my plans to it and then everything became much closer to reality.

Without further ado, let's get into my plan, since I know you all are here to hear how I'm gonna make this work.

1. Moving to a Better Place

My first and most important step is "To Move". I will unfold more about my move and my plans once they have gotten to a certain point, but for now, you should know that I am changing my place of living and in here unfortunately opportunities are limited, and although it is still possible to achieve my goals here, it will certainly take more time and I don't want to waste unnecessary time or effort on something that can be achieved much easier and faster elsewhere.

2. Finding a Job

Once my move has been finalized, my plans officially start. The second step is to settle down and "Find a Job" in where I'm going and create a stable lifestyle. For that, I wanna try my best and put my 100% into finding a suitable job and succeeding at it. Later when I'm in that stage, I will post about the process and the ups and downs of finding a job with suitable criteria on my blog, as this is also an important part of my journey. Finding the best job match isn’t just about stability for me, it’s part of the bigger picture. I want to become skilled, keep improving, and use what I learn to climb higher, land better roles, and earn more. That way, I can save enough to invest in something, whether it is in other companies or a side-hustle of my own. However, I still wanna keep the job itself to have a stable source of income alongside my more ambitious goals until I can be completely on my own.

3. Initiating a Side Hustle

Which brings us to my third step, "side hustle". I've always said it and will always say, that in order to get out of the friend zone of your financial situation and make it into a relationship, you need to have a side-gig. Whether it is managing a small shop on Instagram or private tutoring or even blogging. This will teach you how to manage multiple things at the same time, build upon your skills and slowly start to become a source of income. I gotta say, this phase is one of the hardest. I've done this before and it takes a lot of energy and effort, but I don't mind trying hard toward my goals. So my plan is to have a side-gig, it could be through my blog or an Instagram page, I will decide about that later when the time comes.

4. Investing

Step 4, in my opinion, is "Investment". I'm not very educated in the matter of investment, but from my limited knowledge, I believe that having a stable job/income and a small side hustle won't get you closer to having a 10 million net worth fast enough. You need to increase your money, and I believe accurate and calculated investment is the way. I might change my opinion later when I'm in the game, but for now, this is my plan. I also will write about what I will learn later on about my investing journey and all I learn about it.

5. Creating a Social Media Page

Step 5 is a fluid stage; it could be placed before the "finding a job" stage or even after. Nevertheless, I think the sooner, the better. I want to create a social media page and use it as a stepping stone. Social media has grown and is still growing among people. It is a very fast and simple way to create a community and use that community to your advantage. The only catch is that you have to be creative and smart to pull it off, which I think everyone can do, whether it is comedy, education, or even vlogging. Social media itself can be a small source of income. You can either sell your own products or services or advertise others'. Either way, this is a great side hustle that later could be turned into your business's front. You can use the people in your community and turn them into loyal customers if you know what to do. I will certainly put "creating a social media page" on my to-do list.

Preparing for My Journey in a State of Uncertainty

As I mentioned earlier, I am stuck in a limbo state. We are waiting for an answer that might take days or weeks to receive, and until then, I cannot initiate any official plans. But that being said, it doesn't mean that there is nothing to be done. Although I cannot look for a job or start my side gig, I can work on my skills and elevate my knowledge in order to find the best career opportunity later. So right now, I'm learning and collecting information about my next steps.

All in all, my plan is not fully mature yet, I know there are going to be many obstacles on my way and I might have to steer away from my current roadmap and create a completely new one, but my goal of becoming rich is the light of my way. I might achieve my goal in 10 years or it might take longer, it could also speed up, who knows? But what I do know is that I want to share my unfiltered, uncensored journey toward my plan as a way to show the reality of living life with bold ambitions.
