My Journey to 10 Million Update

As you all might know about my ambitious plan, I have started a journey to reach 10 million in worth. This journey was inspired by difficulties in my childhood and not wanting to be held back ever again by finances. Today, I have reached a major milestone; let's get into it.

Today I finally acquired my Google's Fundamentals of Digital Marketing certificate. Now you might say, "Saina, it was just a 40-hour course and anyone could've done that in less time than you did," but I could say in response that for my unique situation, this is a huge achievement. I have previously talked about my ADHD and the struggles that come with it, and one of those struggles is finishing a relatively time-consuming task without an imposed deadline. And by imposed deadline, I mean a deadline that is imposed by a third party that doesn't cut you any slack.

With ADHD, setting your own deadline is nothing short of a joke. You keep setting a deadline and poof, it goes out the window if no urgency is involved. So finishing tasks is almost impossible, and getting them done, no matter how late, is a huge achievement. That is why today I'm very proud of myself for finally finishing this course and obtaining the certificate.

I also should mention that I didn't just read the text and scroll through the course. Sure, if my only purpose was to make money out of this, I probably would, but I needed this not only to jumpstart my career in digital marketing, but most importantly to help my own blog grow and create a loving community.

During these last few months, not only did I manage to read and learn more about digital marketing, but I also realized that I didn't know much about important subjects that weren't talked about openly. Things like setting up double opt-in for forms and subscriptions, or even setting up cookies agreements. I learned how to improve SEO and how to work with Google Search Console and lots of other skills and platforms, and I certainly intend to extend my knowledge.

My 10 Million Journey So Far

I talked about all this to get to this point, where I am currently on my journey to 10 million. So my plan initially was to land a job, which I really tried to get for months and months, but unfortunately, the job market is struggling, and in order to be able to land a job, you need to be the best. Even though I will not abandon my job searching quest, I can't just sit there and wait for opportunities to fall from the sky. In fact, I tend to do better in crisis; when all the doors are closed, I knock down the walls. That takes us back to one of the reasons I'm actively learning digital marketing, to sharpen my skills and increase my chances of finding a job that I like. That would be part of my journey to 10 million, or might I say the key point of it, as the decisions you make at the beginning of your path determine what kind of future you will have, like a timeline.

My advice to you (and to myself) is that in times of despair, don't give up easily. You might not have money or connections, but you have the biggest asset in you, your brain. Learn more, whatever time it might take, however difficult it might be. To reach the top, you need to learn climbing, and to secure a job you need to learn skills. Become better than everyone by comparing yourself to your yesterday self. Remember not to compete with others, as comparing yourself with people you don't know, who have different lives and paths than you, is toxic competition and just wears you out.
